PRIVACY POLICY
This policy covers Customer Information, which means personally identifiable
information about a consumer or a consumer's current or former customer
relationship with First National Bank of the Gulf Coast. This policy is provided
to you as required by the Federal Financial Privacy Law. While information is
the cornerstone of our ability to provide superior service, First National Bank
of the Gulf Coast's most important asset is our Customer's trust. When you
entrust us with your personal information, you can be certain we will use it
within the established privacy laws and the guidelines provided in this notice.
We are committed to your right to have your personal financial information
remain private and secure.
This notice describes how we handle your personal information and explains your choices regarding disclosures to third parties. We will provide a copy of our privacy policy to you at least annually as long as you continue your relationship with us. If we make significant changes to this policy, we will inform you of the changes before they become effective.
Information Collection — Public and Non-Public Personal Information
First National Bank of the Gulf Coast only collects information about you that is necessary to provide superior customer service, maintain and administer your account, and to provide financial services that are of interest to you. The type of information we collect and use is categorized as follows:
Identification Information — information that identifies you such as name, address, telephone number and social security number,
Application Information — information you provide to us on applications and through other means that will help us determine if you are eligible for the products you request. Examples include assets, income and debt.
Transaction and Experience Information — information about transactions and account experience, as well as information about our communications with you. Examples include account balances, payment history, account usage and your inquiries and our responses.
Consumer Report Information — information from outside sources regarding employment, credit and other relationships that will help us determine if you are eligible for the products you request. Examples include employment history, loan balances, credit card balances, property insurance coverage and other verifications.
Other General Information — information from outside sources, such as data from public records that is not assembled or used for the purpose of determining eligibility for a product or service.
As required by the USA PATRIOT Act, we also collect information and take actions necessary to verify your identification.
Information Security; Confidentiality and Accuracy
Keeping financial information secure is one of our most important responsibilities. We train our employees about privacy laws, our privacy policy and procedures, and confidentiality to ensure your non-public personal information is safe. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect Customer information. First National Bank of the Gulf Coast restricts access to your non-public personal information only to those employees authorized to access customer information for business purposes. Our employees are bound by a code of ethics that requires confidential treatment of customer information and are subject to disciplinary action if they fail to follow this code.
In addition to First National Bank of the Gulf Coast's Privacy Policy, we also have policies in place for Information Security Standards and an Incident Response Program for Unauthorized Access to Customer Information.
Managing Information Disclosure
First National Bank of the Gulf Coast may share any of the categories of customer information with companies that work for us. All non-affiliated companies that act on our behalf and receive customer information from us are contractually obligated to keep the information we provide to them confidential, and to use the customer information we share only to provide the services we ask them to perform. The information we share helps us bring you greater convenience and more choices. We limit who receives customer information and what type of information is shared. It is the policy of First National Bank of the Gulf Coast not to sell or disclose customer information or share non-public personal information about our customers with non-affiliated third parties except where permitted by law. Made at your request or authorization,
To service providers to process transactions you initiate, such as check printing companies, data processors, and bank software vendors or marketing firms,
Required by law such as in response to a subpoena or fraud investigation,
To fulfill legal and regulatory requirements such as for an audit or examination,
To other financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements,
To financial regulators and law enforcement agencies to identify and deter money laundering and/or terrorist financing,
To a consumer reporting agency.
If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and practices described in this notice. We will not disclose your non-public personal information, except as allowed by law, just as if you had continued your relationship with us.
Authorized Sharing For Marketing Purposes
In order to provide you with the financial products and services you need to meet your financial goals, First National Bank of the Gulf Coast may occasionally contact you regarding a product or service that may be of interest to you. We may contact you directly or we may enter into a joint marketing agreement with another company such as a financial service provider, mortgage banker, insurance company, direct sales company, or a non-profit organization. As permitted by law, we may share non-public personal information about you with other companies with which we are jointly marketing a product or service. Such information may include, but is not limited to, your name, address, account balances, account activity, types of accounts, payment history and deposit history. When we share your non-public personal information under these circumstances, we require those companies to adhere to our privacy policy and enter into contractual agreements with us that prohibit them from disclosing to other third parties the information we provide to them. If you have a joint account, a request to opt out by one account owner will apply to all accounts jointly owned by those parties. If you have previously informed us of your choice to opt out, you do not need to do so again. This election will apply to each of your accounts.
Please be aware that even though you may elect to opt out of the disclosure of non-public personal information to third parties for marketing purposes, we will still disclose information we collect about you under other circumstances as permitted or required by law, such as to process transactions on your behalf.
Internet Website and Electronic Banking
First National Bank of the Gulf Coast is committed to providing high levels of security and privacy regarding the collection and use of consumer and customer personal information while visiting our website. The collection of non-public personal information online is designed to protect access to your personal accounts and to assist First National Bank of the Gulf Coast in providing you with the products and services you need to meet your financial goals. We require multiple layers of security (Multi Factor Authorization) in order to authenticate our customers' identities prior to allowing electronic account access. Our stringent security measures ensure that personal information, electronic account applications, e-mail requests, and other communications provided to us through our secure website are delivered only to approved personnel through an encrypted direct line to the Bank. We will collect and store information about your visits to our website in order to make our website more accessible to you when you visit it. The information collected is also maintained securely and privately.
For your convenience, First National Bank of the Gulf Coast's website may contain links to other Internet sites. However, we are not responsible for the privacy or security of those sites, and a disclaimer indicating you are leaving a bank secured site will appear if you choose to link to another Internet site. If you are asked to provide information while visiting those sites, we strongly advise you to review their privacy policy before sharing that information.
In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), First National Bank of the Gulf Coast will not knowingly request information from or advertise to children under the age of thirteen (13) without parental consent. We recognize that protecting children's identities and confidentiality online is an important responsibility that rests with online operators and the children's parents.
Guarding Your Own Information
First National Bank of the Gulf Coast recommends that you take the following precautions to guard against the disclosure and unauthorized use of your account and personal information:
Review your monthly account statements thoroughly and report any suspicious activity to us immediately
Shred documents containing any sensitive information, such as bank statements, before discarding
Confirm that an Internet site is secure by checking that the URL (Web address) begins with "https"
Memorize Personal Identification Numbers ("PINs") and refrain from writing PINs, Social Security numbers, debit or credit card numbers where they could be found
Do not respond to e-mails requesting account numbers, passwords or PINs. Call the institution to verify the legitimacy of the e-mail
